Ages 2.5 – 4 years
Perpetual Weekly Lessons or Everyday Session
The Pufferfish level is designed for swimmers who have completed an Everyday Session but are still fearful, are unable to perform skills without full assistance from their instructor, and/or are reluctant to put their faces and ears in the water. This class moves at a slower pace than Clown Fish, allowing instructors time to establish trust, build confidence, and encourage comfort in the water. Through the use of fun activities, songs, props, and strategic teaching methods, instructors gradually release the level of assistance provided, encouraging condfidence and independence.
As with all of our beginner levels, Pufferfish emphasizes safety skills including listening, following directions, safer entry and exit, and what to do in the case of an accidental submersion. These children typically are not quite ready to swim, however we do slowly introduce fundamental swimming skills including breath control, body position, buoyancy, kicking, assisted back floats, and rolling from back to front and front to back.
We HIGHLY recommend Pufferfish swim 2x per week.
